Project 1 Comp

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

Here is my preliminary design idea for project 1. I decided to name the movie site “Give & Take” because it is an appropriate name for a communal web application and relates to films. Not only that, but it gave me the idea to use a (slightly abstracted) clapboard for the layout. The basic idea is to add in a movie you don’t see on the list. This will build up the database that will come in handy later.

Do you have a movie I don’t?

That is the question I am going to ask with the upcoming project 1 in my class known as Dynamic Persuasion. I am going to make a web application that builds a database from the visitors typing in movie titles. This will be a stepping stone on my way to build a future project where there can be ratings and lists made. It’s not like I want to compete with The Internet Movie Database, I just want to be able to do stuff like that.

The Evils of The Elderly

It is a site that pokes fun at 1950’s paranoia. I made it in one of my many Jason classes.

Hello, this is Derek Hall (another star in the vast universe of blogs). I’m putting this up as a 4th year student at the Rochester Institute of Technology in order to display some of my projects, experiments, and thoughts. I’m sure there will be plenty of:

1) work to be shared
2) lessons to be learned
3) fun to be had
4) minds to be blown
